how is universal healthcare bad?
i know that tax dollars fund it and all, but i do believe healthcare should be available to EVERYONE. if you can afford private healthcare, then great, but no one should go without treatment and get sicker and sicker just because of financial issues. the healthcare offered through work is not that good and is sooo expensive and takes a big chunk out of your check, not to mention high copays and deductibles. i can’t tell you how many times i have seen people suffer from sicknesses that require simple antibiotics, but can’t get them because they are prescription only and you have to go through a doctor to get the script or someone that has an abscess tooth and no dentist will even talk to them because they don’t have the money to pay up front to get the tooth pulled. in my state, low income adults can’t get on medicaid. only children and pregnant women and disabled, so you are just SOL if you are an adult that works hard at a crappy job that either doesn’t offer insurance or its so expensive. a girl i work with said that she has to have oral surgery or there could be serious consequences for her health and she has no insurance, so she is resorting to trying to get pregnant so she can get on medicaid so she can get this done! a lot of people are getting so sick from not getting treatment and finally go to the ER just to get a $ 2000 bill that never gets paid and that just makes the cost of healthcare go even higher! free clinics waits are so long too. its like you just can’t win. wouldn’t this healthcare be a better alternative in the long run for everyone, even if it means paying a little more in taxes? if you think i am wrong, then please tell me why

Universal health care isn’t bad.
But in america we don’t want to put our insurance companies bankrupt, because that will cause a huge number of people unemployed.
But universal health care really is a great idea.
Canada has it but thats because they never had any insurance companies to begin with.

i love the idea. it will cost more than people think it will. we also have a doctor/healthcare worker shortage in the u.s. nothing will be implemented before 2013. the original wording of the obama plan calls for lots of intrusive social engineering. this is a work in(slow) progress.
