Well...grace can make an unattractive woman beautiful....and beauty diminishes with age....eventually you'll get wrinkly, that cute little tattoo of a sunset coming out of your butt crack will turn into a jellyfish eating a starfish, boobs will sag, arm fat, the works....but grace (unless you get arthritis) will be there till the end. As will your personality (unless you get dementia)

Beauty eventually fades away. Wrinkles, baggy eyes, gray hair and a drastic change in shape gradually fills the void. The opposite sex doesn't whistle or holler at you walking by. They don't even look your way, much less a double take.anymore. By this time if you don't have some kind of inner beauty to share, what's left? A miserable, cranky, self-centered, "me". Bah humbug!
Inner beauty is not innately there. You don't put it on like the mascara, eyeliner, shadow, blush face powder and lipstick either. But yes, it does take pain to be beautiful
It takes much care, diligence, focus, discernment, love and humbleness over the course of many years. Your path will take you through mountains and meadows, rivers and oceans, rain and hurricanes. You will endure much to learn the value of inner beauty and peace. And the Lord God's love and guidance will be with you all the way... home.
True beauty and grace is found within the heart.

When beauty fades (and it will) Graciousness does not (or does not have to). Have you ever noticed, that people that are not particularly attractive but are always considerate, thought-full and friendly. Become better looking the longer you know them. This is because their inner beauty shines, you are affected by their light. (soul).
A gracious person makes others around them feel 'well' and 'content'.

"Realize that when you get older, you either get senile or become gracious. There's no in-between. You become senile when you think the world short-changed you, or everybody wakes up to screw you. You become gracious when you realize that you have something the world needs, and people are happy to see you when you come into the room." – Carlos Santana

We grow up with an image of Christ of beauty, but nothing could be further from the truth. Though He was not ugly, He was very plain as far as looks and stature goes. Yet He shined with the beauty of grace and mercy attracting all who would have been considered unimportant, or invisible in our society, and in the society of that day as well. You could say, well He was God, but Scriptures teach us He was very ordinary. That the Pharisees were puzzled over His knowledge of Scriptures, God, and the grace He exhibited. Christ said, out of the mouth the heart speaks or something like that (my Bibles are packed and the other is in the truck). I think Christ gave us the greatest example of beauty simply because, He showed us His heart, through grace and mercy. When we spend time with Him we cannot help but reflect this same beauty. Humans are judgmental, we base things on looks and stature and tend to gravitate around those who exhibit these qualities. But, when looks fade and they are no longer on the pedestals we put them on, we move on to the next attraction. Grace can only be given away even the receiver may not be graceful in the receiving, however that does not change the beauty of grace. And, one cannot have grace without mercy. That is the ultimate test of grace, and the heart. Making it so that grace, or the lack of it a fatal condition. Fatal in the fact that without grace one will not see the kingdom of heaven, but to have grace one must be willing to die to self, and put others and their feelings before themselves. You cannot be forgiven if you will not forgive, and forgiveness comes from grace and mercy.
