Q&A: I make all natural body care products. Is this a good business to get into?

I work as a manicurist partime and when i service my clients. i used some of the products that i make. I make body glow salt scurbs, using all natural essential oils and i use my own hand whipped shea butter as a moisturizer. When performing my natural nail care services and pedicure, my clients always rave about how good my products feel and ask about them. I have sold them to my clients as well, but i want to know if i should go all out and if this is a lucrative business

i definitley think that natural body care products is a great business idea because people want to know what they're putting on and into their bodies.
i think it also really depends on where you live. for instance, i know you'd probably find a very favourable market out here in vancouver, bc. those kind of products are huge.
if i were you, i'd start within the confines of your work and your clients. perhaps give them samples that they can give to friends and family to try, and like you said, people are still raving about your product, start staking out beauty product stores and setting up appointments to talk to the owner or manager about selling your products in them. but i definitley think you're on to something, and the sky is the limit.

This country was built by entreprenuers. If you have a good product then yes by all means go into business for yourself, but get some feedback by other business owners...Good Luck!

Umm that is a very competitive field to survive in business... there is so much competiton in cosmetics. I find that there are too many products to choose from these days so customer loyalty is definately going to be a hard thing to keep up. Id start out small like selling your stuff at the markets or on eBay and see how it goes before you actually borrow money to start up anything big.

There are so many ppl/co. that make this stuff. You have a huge competition waiting for you. To make it, you need to stand out and find a niche.
