why do people care about beauty...?

I see so many people care about the out side beauty more than inner beauty b/c when they want to get married they only care about outer beauty...why i need advice please

What is blameworthy is when a man seeks beauty and forgets about character and religious commitment – which form the foundation of happiness and righteousness. As this is how most people are, the hadeeth urges them to look for one who is religiously committed and of good character, to stop people focussing on outward appearances and ignoring inward qualities.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Women may be married for four things: their wealth, their lineage, their beauty and their religious commitment. Choose the one who is religiously-committed, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper)." Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4802) and Muslim (1466).

Al-Nawawi said in Sharh Muslim (10/52):

We have to keep a balance.

We shouldn't completely neglect our outer beauty either, our appearance and bodies were given to us by Allah (swt) and we must look after them. It is permitted to beautify yourself for your husband or around friends of the same gender, but not to strangers. Also, in Islam we have to be kept clean, not scruffy looking, for cleanliness is the key to salah, and salah is the key to Jannah.

Sometimes I don't blame them. Because as a society, we tend to judge people "by the cover," so in an attempt to give a right impression, they will go out of their way to make their appearance stand out. Though this is wrong, will this man still love you in years to come when you are old and wrinkly? That is why you should seek to marry a partner who doesn't judge you solely for what you look like, but what you act like. If you can find someone like that, then they are a treasure.

Because men are genetically programmed and biologically predisposed to be attracted to beautiful women, because beautiful women, on average, are healthier, and more reproductively fit than uglier women. You can't fight millions of years of evolution.

personally i dont know. and im not going to be a hypocrite, im always worrying about these things. but i know im most definitely not happy with it. it's true that when you stand before Allah (swt) he will not judge you based on how smooth your hair is, or how much your foundation matches your skin, or how even your eyebrows are, or how thin your thighs are... or how shiny your jewelry is. There are so much more important things in life. Allah (swt) will judge us based on what is inside our hearts, our salat, our good deeds, our bad deeds, our charity, our selfishness, our smiles, and our attitude, and especially our remembrance in Allah. i wish i could convince everyone of this. ive already convinced myself but its hard for me to stop worrying. that is what society has done to us. has society in our hearts become more powerful than our deen? Awuzo Billah. i hope not.

let's make du'a that Allah (swt) will help us stop caring about our appearance rather than him.

Allah said he created us in the most beautiful creation.
not ONE of us is ugly in the eyes of Allah. and to say so would be to mock his creation. and who are we to mock the creation of Allah (swt)?


i dont think we need to be "beautiful" in the eyes of our society to enter Jannah...

Because people have became so worried with there image and how people think about them from first glance, we have built a society that adores and idolizes beatiful people, we have gotten to secular and they worry about materialistic things more than there character and personality. If we worked on our character, to enhance it, to rid of the blemishes and imperfections like the way we worry about our face most of us would be absolutely lovable and pure. Unfortunately the vision that has gone out is to look beautiful, and to worry about your body image because they think that when your beautiful life is beautiful, but that is so untrue the most beautiful people are mostly the most miserable,(trust me)
