Okay here some info 1. Im a nail biter 2. I've tried everything to stop biting 3. The only that works 100% is acrylic nails 4. I know they are not good for nails but its 99% better in the fact it prevents me from biting. 5. Im not looking for lecture on nail health just what i can do for my situation :(. Okay. So my nail place is lame, i broke nails off and it would cost more for repairs than it would be to get a brand new set at one point so i took em all off. Problem: my nails are very thin (and im already habitually biting them :( ...). They are so thin i can see my blood pulsing under one and they are very sensitive to hot water :( my solution: im going to wait a week for them to grow out...if i dont bite too much...and let them get a lil thicker b4 i get new nails back on. I put lotion (beeswax hand cream with almond and pecan oils)(its very "natural" so to speak) and massage it in every night. My main question: what can i do differently/ do better to get my nails a bit healthier b4 i get new nails on?

Keeping the nail beds moisturized is also important. Use a nondrying nail lotion, at least once daily. Alternatively, you can also apply petroleum jelly to the nails and the area around them. Some people even recommend doing this and covering the hands with gloves before bed time.
Daily, give your nails a brief massage with olive oil. You can use your fingers for this, or a brush. Do this for about 10 minutes.
One simple home remedy for nail care is using a mixture of honey and lemon. This works well if you have brittle nails. Massage your nails with the mixture before going to bed.
Look for skin lotions which can be used for the nails and for the skin as well. This way you can not only maintain your nails, but also make your hands feel softer and supple
