Are republicans claiming to want Health Care Reform the same as beauty queens asking for "World Peace"?

Do they simply claim to want HCR because they think it's the right thing to say, and hope to stall until they are back in power and can shelve HCR for a few more decades?

Answer by LA_Chick
Stall and obstruct, it's the Republican way. If it were up to them there would be no Medi-Care, no Social Security.

The "reform" they want is whatever will make insurance corporations and health care corporations filthy rich. Well, I mean, filthier and richer.

I will tell you three things that we could try before having the government overhaul it and screw it up even more:

1. Tort Reform
2. Eliminate State Lines When it Comes to Commerce for health insurance.
3. Give tax incentives to doctors to provide services for those who are uninsured or of low income as well as tax incentives for all US citizens who pay for their own health care.

No. They just want to ensure that its fiscally sound. Republicans aren't corrupt fatcats feeding on lobbyist money. They just have different priorities. Keeping taxes low is one of them.

The current version of Health Care Reform will impact taxes in a way that is far larger than they are comfortable with

We don't have world peace because we can't afford to pay for it. same reason we don't have Universal single payer "Free" health care.

If either side were serious about health INSURANCE reform they could easily do this by getting rid of the (Outlawing) the pre existing condition clauses of health insurance plans, this would instantly and automatically force health insurance carriers to design plans that insure the average cost of providing health care to the individual ( not groups) over average life spans. Just like they do with life insurance policies.

Also we should unfetter those companies by allowing them to compete across state lines.(of course they would be bound by the state laws in the states the compete in)

We have a private sector based plan for reform. Its been out for a year, but liberals only want socialized healthcare

Heres my perspective.

Medicare is about to get massively axed to pay for a new "universal coverage" plan.

Your party has already guaranteed old people that your going to pay for their healthcare and now your going to axe it. So not only do they have no money saved, but their healthcare is going be cut.

Old people are going to die.

Secondly, I perfer my right to free choice. I'd rather not pay for something thats guaranteed to be axed in the future just like Medicare. That way I get to decide how i spend my own money and i wont be relying on the government when they axe the new plan....so i wont die.

Just like Social Security is bankrupt. Barrack Obama has admitted to it. Thats another failed social program i wont get, but im forced into taxation anyways.

Lastly, Massachessuts has a similar plan. It has year over year cost increases of 42%. How is that going to save money?

This plan is ludacris, against my will, against my freedom of choice, unconstitutional, and basically you can **** off for thinking you know whats best for me.

And it sure as hell isnt a safety net.

Well, if republicans are beauty queens...are libs going to destroy them for having a different opinion just like the beauty queen that was witch hunted for not agreeing with gay marriage?
