Question by Alex: men's-only salon, what are your opinions about this?
hi! i've noticed that there are a lot of haircare products these days specialized only for men, and in line with this i'm planning on starting a business with a friend, we plan to start a MEN'S ONLY SALON. now here are my question (for guys only): what are the services do you look for in a salon? like do you want to be able to play computer games or watch movies while having your haircut? do you want a pool table available in the salon so that you could play pool while you're waiting for your turn? or do you want it to have a bar wherein drinks are served? do you want the atmosphere of the place to look like it's a private gentlemen's club? or a place for a certain secret society? or what other services you wish a men's-only salon could offer that isn't available in barbershops and i mean wholesome and decent services okay. so that's it, hope to get a lot of interesting feedbacks, thank you :D

i think a mens only salon is a great idea
but it depends on what clientele you are hoping to attract
my OH will pay plenty to have his hair cut
but he is a no nonsense kinda guy
in, sit, cut, dried/styled, pay, out
he hates all the stuff they usually offer
its a service not a pastime to him
and serving drinks etc you need different licenses & insurance
as well as experitise & staff

When I got my last hair-cut it was at a men's salon called sport clips, where guys watch football while getting their hair cut, personally, it felt degrating, they made it the most macho environment possible, steel walls and football decorations everywhere, It really did feel like as if I was in a gym! But I like the idea of making it look like a gentelmens club, alot of red velvet would make people feel welcomed and special. and personally, watching or doing anything while getting a little haircut sounds too excesive, because i'll I really want to do is talk to my hairstylist, but if I could change one thing, the smooth jazzy music in the backround totally makes me feel like a homo.
